STAGE 1
DROUGHT CONTINGENCY PLAN
Wickson Creek SUD is implementing Stage 1 of our Drought Contingency Plan due to excessive heat and excessive water use. Most of the high-water use during peak hours consists of automatic lawn sprinkler systems. To ensure enough water is available for drinking, sanitation, and to maintain system pressure, irrigation must be spread to off-peak hours.
If District customers will comply with the following instructions, further conservation methods may not be required. Please adjust your irrigation systems to comply with the watering restrictions below.
Voluntary Water Use Restrictions:
Please make these simple changes to your irrigation timers as soon as possible.
- If your street address ends with an even number (0, 2, 4, 6 or 8) limit irrigation times to Sundays and Thursdays. DO NOT irrigate between the hours of 3 a.m. and 8 a.m.
- If your street address ends with an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7 or 9), limit irrigation times to Saturdays and Wednesdays. DO NOT irrigate between the hours of 3 a.m. and 8 a.m.
Wickson is requesting all customers to practice water conservation and to minimize or discontinue water use for non-essential purposes. These simple modifications to your water use will help us supply all the necessary water to customers while maintaining safe water storage levels within the District.
